Rest Home Care

Our rest homes cater to those who are mostly independent but may require some assistance with personal care and general day-to-day activities.


If the level of support you need is more than you’re able to get at home, then we’re here to help. Our team can assist with all your daily needs, including getting you ready for the day, preparing and cooking all your meals and helping you do the things you love, so you and your family can rest assured that you’re well supported, every day.

Dementia Care

For residents with dementia we offer specifically targeted services, specialist staff and secure environments to ensure maximum wellbeing and safety at all times.



Our staff are specifically trained to provide specialist Dementia care. With all the comforts of home, our team caters to your unique needs, working with you and your family to provide a balance of freedom and security to help keep you safe.


Palliative Care

For those nearing the end of their lives, specialist medical services and clinical staff are available to meet ongoing comfort and care requirements.


Our team is trained to provide the highest quality Palliative and End-of-Life Care, taking a holistic approach to your needs and wishes. We not only ensure that you are as physically comfortable as possible, but we also look at your spiritual and cultural needs, as well as those of the friends and family supporting you.


Respite Care

Short-term stays, or respite care services, are available to those who are unwell (eg. recovering from an illness or hospital stay) or who simply are in need of extra support.


We offer short term stays if you need additional support to recover from surgery or illness before you’re ready to go back home. It can be refreshing to enjoy a change of scenery, make new friends and give your usual carers a break or a holiday.

Day Care

Provides care and support services for a short period of time such as a day or two. Assisting you with day-to-day tasks to restore or maintain your independence. Spend a few days a week with us during the day.

Hospital Care

Hospital level care is provided for those residents who have a significant disability and medical concerns.


If your care needs include more complex medical or mobility concerns, then our team can provide full Hospital level care suited to you. Our personalised approach ensures that what you need and want is at the centre of every decision.

  • How do I apply for care?

    If you wish to apply for a Residential Care Subsidy, you’ll require a needs assessment to be completed by the DHB Needs Assessment team. You can ask your GP for an assessment referral, or you can contact your local service via the NASC website at

  • How much does care cost?

    The amount you pay for Aged Residential Care Services is set by the District Health Board (DHB), rather than the individual facilities. This means that all Care Centres within a region charge the same amount for a standard room. Hospital and Dementia care does cost more than Rest Home level care; however, the Ministry of Health covers these additional costs, so they are not passed on to you.

  • Can I decorate my room?

    Yes. This is your own private space and it’s important you feel at home, so why not personalise it with your own pictures and ornaments? We can provide furniture, but you might like to bring your favourite chair, side table and bedspread. Please ensure all electrical items you bring in with you have been certified and tagged as safe by an electrician before you move in. Alternatively, our maintenance team may be able to do this for you, but there could be an extra charge for this service.

  • How do you keep track of my care needs?

    We use laptops and tablets for medication and progress notes, so our nursing staff know what you need and when you need it. Regular assessments of care are completed at least twice a year, and more often as your care needs change.

  • Who takes care of my medication?

    All medication, including over-the-counter drugs, are managed by our nursing team and overseen by our contracted GP or nurse practitioner. These nurses arrange prescriptions and organise medication with our contracted pharmacies.
